Body microneedlingcollagen induction for the body

Body microneedling uses tiny, controlled microchannels to trigger your skin's natural repair response and encourage new collagen and elastin. I use it when we're trying to actually remodel texture rather than just exfoliate the surface: stretch marks, scars, uneven texture or crepey-looking skin. The improvement happens gradually as the skin rebuilds itself, so this is definitely more of a "trust the process" treatment than an instant fix. Priced by area, and available as a series of three.

"If I'm not bleeding, the microneedling isn't deep enough."

Not true. Pinpoint bleeding can happen with deeper microneedling, especially on certain body areas, but bleeding is not the goal and it is not what makes the treatment effective. I'm looking for an appropriate skin response for the concern and the area being treated. More blood does not mean more collagen, and unnecessarily aggressive treatment can create more inflammation, longer healing and a higher risk of complications. I want controlled stimulation, not trauma for the sake of trauma.

A small amount of pinpoint bleeding can be completely normal during body microneedling. Heavy or persistent bleeding is not something I'm trying to achieve.

Good to know

Before your visit

How to prepare

  • For several days before, keep the area calm and well hydrated — no retinoids, acids, scrubs or irritating actives.
  • No tanning or sunburn.
  • No waxing, depilatory creams or aggressive exfoliation right before.
  • Clean skin — no self-tanner, heavy lotion or body oil.
  • Tell me about medications, recent procedures or skin conditions that could affect healing.

The days after

Downtime and aftercare

  • Redness, warmth, tenderness or a sunburn-like feeling for a day or two; tight, dry or slightly rough as it heals.
  • Deeper treatments can have a little more visible downtime.
  • Keep the skin clean, hydrated and protected; no retinoids, acids or scrubs until it's fully calm.
  • First 24–48 hours: no heavy sweating, hot tubs, saunas, pools or excessive heat.
  • Avoid tight clothing, don't pick at flaking, and use SPF where the skin is exposed.

Going forward

How often

  • Usually a series of 3, about 4–6 weeks apart, then we reassess.
  • Stretch marks, scars and established texture often need more than 3.
  • Collagen remodeling is gradual — I adjust the plan as your skin responds rather than promising a number.
  • Once we're happy, maintenance is occasional and based on the skin.

Common questions

Will one treatment make a difference?

You may notice some improvement after one treatment, but body concerns like stretch marks and scars usually respond best to a series.

Can microneedling completely remove stretch marks or scars?

No treatment can promise to erase them completely, but microneedling can soften their appearance, improve texture and make them much less noticeable over time.

Does it hurt?

We can use topical numbing when appropriate. Most people describe the treatment as uncomfortable in certain areas rather than truly painful.

When will I see results?

This one takes patience. Your skin needs time to build and remodel collagen, so improvement develops gradually over the weeks and months after treatment.

Can you microneedle old stretch marks?

Yes. Both newer and older stretch marks may improve, although the response and number of treatments needed can vary.

Is deeper microneedling always better?

No. Needle depth should be based on the area, the concern and the individual skin. Going deeper than necessary does not automatically create a better result and can create unnecessary trauma.

Which areas count as small, medium and large?

Small is a localized area. Medium covers areas such as the shoulders, upper arms or a section of the back. Large covers larger areas such as the full back — final pricing for large areas is confirmed at your visit.

How is this different from microneedling on the face?

It's the same collagen-induction approach adapted for body areas and thicker skin. If you're also treating your face, see Microneedling.

Every treatment comes with detailed post-care guidance. Timing and results vary by person.

Who it’s for

A good fit

  • Stretch marks, surgical or injury scars
  • Uneven texture, crepey skin, and areas that have lost some firmness
  • Someone willing to commit to a series and give the skin time to change

Pause and ask first

  • Active infection, open wounds, irritated skin, a rash, inflamed acne, sunburn, or an eczema or psoriasis flare in the area — wait until it's calm
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding, isotretinoin, blood thinners or immune-suppressing medications
  • Poor wound healing, or a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
  • Recent surgery, laser, peels, waxing or other aggressive treatments in the area — these can change timing
